The revamped Philadelphia 76ers debuted in Orlando last night for the Preseason opener. Obviously absent while recovering from a knee procedure was Andrew Bynum but they were still able to gain a 102-95 victory over the Magic to start the preseason off. Lavoy Allen came off the bench to play the most minutes of the game but the real star was the 76ers shooting. The Sixers as a team shot 44.7% from the field and 50% from the 3 point line.
Jrue Holiday was the only starter to crack double digits in points and led the team with 27 points on 12-14 shooting including going 3-4 from the 3 point line. Evan Turner had an absymal shooting night going 2-12 and getting 4 points in over 30 minutes of play.
Nick Young came off the bench to score 22 on 50% shooting and going 3-4 from the 3 point line. The 76ers also shot 85% from the free throw line going 17-20. Allen led the team in rebounds with 8 total including 7 on the defensive side.
The stars for the Magic were Glen Davis who scored 16 points and the 3-point shooting of the team did them in as they shot just 25% from the 3 point line. Jameer Nelson did not have a good game as he went 1-5 from long distance.
The 76ers will open the home part of their preseason schedule tomorrow night at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City against the Brooklyn Nets at 7:00 PM.
