Week 10 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Targets

Colts RB Vick Ballard Is a Top Fantasy Football Waiver Pick-Up for Tonight's Game against Jacksonville

The top 5 of Week 10′s Fantasy Football Waiver Wire targets this week include 2 running backs replacing injured starters, 1 quarterback, a wide receiver and 1 tight end. 2 of these players play in tonight’s Jacksonville & Indianapolis game. The other 3 play for one other team.

Vick Ballard, RB Ind – Donald Brown’s status for tonight’s match up remains uncertain after he missed Wednesday’s walk through practice. If Ballard receives the lion’s share of touches against an awful Jacksonville defense (and it looks like he will), count on him to be a solid RB2 option. Jacksonville has been allowing the fourth most fantasy points to opposing running backs and gave up 179 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns to the Lions’ Mikel Leshoure and Joique Bell last week.  Ballard plays Thursday night, so look to slide him into your lineup quickly.

Marcel Reece, RB/FB Oak – With Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson expected to miss some time, Reece steps up as the next running back on the depth chart. In week 9 he caught eight passes for 95 yards and a touchdown, he practiced in full on Wednesday, and looks to play again on Sunday. His role in the offense is still undefined and he will lose carries to fellow RB Taiwan Jones, but he remains a good pass catching option and a decent flex or PPR play this week.

Carson Palmer, QB Oak – Look for Palmer to air it out more in Oakland with both starting running backs likely out this week. Coming off a 414 yard performance that included four touchdowns, offensive coordinator Greg Knapp has no reason to take his foot off the pedal now. He has a decent match up this week against the Ravens’ 22nd ranked secondary and can be considered a good bye week replacement.

T.Y. Hilton, WR Ind – Fellow rookie Andrew Luck is quickly building a solid rapport with Hilton as he eclipsed the century mark for the second time this season and led all Colts’ receivers in targets in week 9 with 11. Donnie Avery will remain ahead of him on the depth charts, but this speedy wide out provides a legitimate deep threat for Luck opposite Reggie Wayne. Look for Hilton to continue his nice run week 10 against the Jaguars.

Brandon Myers, TE Oak – Myers ranks fifth among tight ends this season with 442 yards receiving but he still remains available in a majority of leagues. After his two touchdown performance last week he’ll certainly draw more attention from owners, and he should see increased targets with McFadden and Goodson likely out with ankle sprains. Looking forward the Raiders have favorable TE match ups remaining against the Saints, Browns, and Chiefs.
