Fantasy Football Week 14: Time to Improve Your Bench

St. Louis Rams' Chris Givens needs to be on your Fantasy Football teamIf you’re reading this, then congratulations on making the fantasy football playoffs. Your starting lineup is most likely solid, and now it’s time to fine tune your roster heading into a difficult week 14. If your league doesn’t have a toilet bowl where lesser owners get a chance to play for pride, then you should have less competition on the waiver wire this week. So let’s get started with a couple of must add studs that could help you down the stretch and bring home The Shiva Bowl trophy.

Chris Givens, WR STL – With Danny Amendola out quarterback Sam Bradford has targeted Givens 20 times in the last two games for 207 yards on 16 catches and a touchdown. Playing against the Bills this week, Givens should continue to see looks as the rookie’s value appears to be increasing week to week.

Alex Green, RB GB – I know Green hasn’t done much to warrant a roster spot this season, but reports indicate James Starks is headed to IR, and if that’s the case the Packers are left thin at the running back position (this is also good news for GB wide receivers Randall Cobb, James Jones, Greg Jennings, and tight end Jermichael Finley as well… Jordy Nelson is doubtful). Green should get the bulk of the carries moving forward, but he may lose goal line work to full back John Kuhn.

Brandon Myers, TE OAK – If he’s still available in your league, Myers is a must add. Myers was targeted 15 times last week and hauled in 14 of those for 130 yards and a touchdown. He’s caught at least five passes in five straight games, making him a must start in PPR leagues, and he’s racked up 338 yards receiving and 4 touchdowns over the same span. Carson Palmer continues to air it out 40+ times a game and his favorite target is Myers.

Josh Gordon, WR CLE – Gordon has already posted some nice fantasy numbers earlier this year but had fallen off a bit midseason. He has 15 catches for 229 yards in his last three games, including 6 catches last week for 116 yards and a score. With upcoming games against the Chiefs and Redskins, Gordon could finish the season strong.

Russell Wilson, QB SEA – With favorable matchups the next two weeks against the Cardinals and Bills, Wilson makes for a sneaky fantasy add this week. He has thrown multiple touchdowns in his last five games and has not thrown an interception in his last four. He remains available in most fantasy formats and wide receivers Sidney Rice and Golden Tate have emerged as viable fantasy options as well.
