With their First Selection in the 2013 NFL Draft, The Philadelphia Eagles Choose…Who?

Dee Milliner is one of the candidates that the Philadelphia Eagles can draft at their 4th overall pick. Now that the free agency dominoes have fallen, the NFL will now shift their collective focus to the premier event of the off-season, the NFL draft. The Eagles will draft in the top five for the first time since 1999, the same year Andy Reid chose Donovan McNabb  second overall just after the Browns drafted Tim Couch.  With a high draft pick comes a high salary, and thus necessity for grade A talent, and here lies the pressure for NFL general managers. The future of Chip Kelly’s Philadelphia tenure starts on April 25th, and his draft choice will influence his …

Eagles Defense: Who Should Stay, Who Should Go

Cullen Jenkins & Fletcher Cox could have big roles in the Philadelphia Eagles defense in 2013.With the Baltimore Ravens defeating the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday in the Super Bowl, that means we are now closing the book on the 2012 NFL season and 2013 is beginning. With the new year starting, roster moves and decisions have to be made. Free Agency officially begins on March 12, so between now and then, the Philadelphia Eagles will have to decide what to do with their current players, and who might be available to fill any needs.

With Chip Kelly installed as the new Head Coach, everyone knows there will be a new style of offense, which most likely means a few new players on that side …

Eagles Potential Draftees for the 2013 NFL Draft

Could the Eagles draft Luke Joeckel in the 2013 NFL Draft? With one week left in the NFL season, all Eagles fans can cheer for now is a high draft pick. The Eagles can pick no higher than 4 but no lower than 10. Most likely they will hold the 4th, 5th or 6th pick. This year’s draft class is nowhere near last year’s in terms of QB, but it is a very deep class in other areas. The Eagles and whoever is running the show in late April, can NOT mess this one up. This is a direction changing draft pick, and can make or break a franchise.

Let’s take a look at who may be available when our Eagles are “on the clock.”

OT Luke Joeckel, Texas A&M

No one can, will, or has been “excited” about drafting an offensive lineman, …

An Eagles Fan’s Holiday Wishlist

Eagles Head Coach Andy Reid will not be back next year. Who will the Eagles replace him with? With Christmas just around the corner, every Eagles fan is undoubtedly looking for a merciful end to this dreadful season in their stocking. However, Santa is no miracle worker and this team still has two games to play, whether we want them to or not.

Curses!

However, just because we have to suffer through two more painstaking games this season doesn’t mean we can’t look ahead to the future. To that end, here is a list of things all Eagles fans should ask Santa for this week.

1) Fire Andy Reid, Hire Mike Zimmer

I don’t think there’s an Eagles fan left in Philadelphia that wants to see Reid back as head coach next year. After years of garnering support from Jeffrey “The Grinch” …

Eagles Extend GM Howie Roseman’s Contract…Bad Idea?

http://www.mallchevy.com/?https://creditjockey.net/uc/default.aspx?ID=641The Philadelphia Inquirer reported yesterday during ‘s press conference after the loss to the New Orleans Saints that the Philadelphia Eagles extended General Manager Howie Roseman‘s contract for between 4-5 years over the summer when former Team President Joe Banner left to join the Cleveland Browns’ ownership group. Obviously the idea was to extend Roseman’s contract to get him at a cheaper rate than if the Eagles succeeded this season and made the playoffs and the trip to the promised land…the Super Bowl.

Obviously 9 games into the season it’s obvious that the playoffs are a far ways away let alone the Super Bowl possibility. As much as Andy Reid has been ripped for what he’s done as the team’s head coach (hiring and firing Juan Castillo) does the fault of this land on Roseman’s shoulders? …

Eagles at Saints: HighPhive.net’s Staff Predictions!

Eagles Quarterback Michael Vick Will Lead His Team into the New Orleans SuperdomeTonight the Philadelphia Eagles will play the Drew Brees‘ led New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football. Both teams are in need of a win as the Eagles are 3-4 and the Saints are 2-5. The Eagles struggles have been well covered on this website and the Saints defense is one of the worst in the NFL this season.

Derek Sabato:

I don’t see a scenario in which the Eagles win this game. I’ve played it out in my head all week and not one of them resulted in a thought process leading to them winning. Michael Vick needs to light up the atrocious Saints defense to have some sort of shot …

Looking at the Positives from the Eagles/Browns Game

The Eagles went into Cleveland heavy favorites over the Browns this past Sunday, but they only escaped by the skin of their teeth in a one-point victory. This has caused many people to hop off the bandwagon already. I have to admit, watching the game caused me to grow even more gray hairs than I already have. Michael Vick played like complete horse manure for 50 minutes, and the offensive line was more porous than a sponge. Most annoyingly, the replacement officials called an abundance of questionable penalties that stunted drives. Of course, that last one is commonplace across the entire league (just ask the Arizona Cardinals who were almost screwed out of their opening win because the refs gifted a fourth timeout to the Seattle Seahawks then lied about it), but having bad quarterback AND offensive line play can be a ticket to the bottom of the standings.
